

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lam Diep, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Lam was born on July 26, 1931, and peacefully departed this world on March 9, 2025, at the age of 93.
Lam is survived by his beloved wife, Mui Diep, who was his lifelong partner and together, they created a legacy of love and warmth that lives on in their family. He is also survived by his children, Pamela Lee (married to Kenneth Lee), Toan Diep (married to Phan Diep), May Collins (married to Melvin Collins), My Danner (married to Todd Danner) and Ha Koehler (married to Matthew Koehler) who continue to carry forward his values and principles. Lam was a devoted grandfather to Alexander Lee, Trey Collins (married to Christa Collins), Allison Lee, Kayla Danner, Jessica Diep, Ryan Koehler, Joseph Diep, Chloe Danner and Elysa Koehler and a loving great-grandfather to Kevin Collins. He is deeply adored and revered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a loving uncle and friend who was selfless and always went out of his way to support and help in any way he could.
Lam was known for his compassionate and generous spirit. He had a passion for gardening and loved all the finer things in life. He loved to travel and took every opportunity to see the world, its beauty and especially, the amazing food. Lam overcame many obstacles when he came to the United States to make a better life for his family and worked tirelessly to ensure his children and grandchildren were equipped with everything they needed to be successful in life. He deeply valued his family and always made time for them. He created memories for those around him that will be cherished for generations.
His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, but his legacy of kindness, strength, and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share his journey. May he rest in eternal peace.
Lam will be deeply missed. A celebration of his remarkable life will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 11:00 am on March 15th. The family asks that you honor Lam’s memory by cherishing time with your loved ones and embracing the beauty in everyday moments.
