Larry Thomas Hoots

HOOTS, Larry Thomas, 93 yrs old of Norfolk, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all. Passed away to be with our Lord August 3rd, 2025. He was Born on January 27th, 1932 in Holcomb, MO. He was preceded in death by Jeff Hoots (Father), Becky Tate Hoots (Mother), Margaret Hoots (wife), and Ted Hoots (son). He was the last of his brothers and sisters, who have passed away. He is survived by his children Bob Hoots (Kim), Susan Duncan (Mike), Debra Foxwell (Jeff), Larry Hoots (Gina), and numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

Larry was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He retired from Moran Towing Co. and former member of BPO Elk # 38. He was a faithful member of Norview Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder and Deacon. Larry also was a dedicated servant to the Norview Community. Active in Civic League, 5 Points Partnership, Gold Sector PACE Team Precinct, and Volunteer at Norview Five Points Farmers Market. He loved growing fresh vegetables in his home garden and had a passion for flower gardening. He also enjoyed camping, the beach, and vacations with his family. Larry and Margaret enjoyed cruises and traveled across country visiting friends and relatives in many states.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th, 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. Family will hold a private interment afterwards.
