Margaret Aster Rountree Baggett

Margaret Aster Rountree Baggett, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 24, 2007. Margaret was born in Greensboro, N.C. and was the daughter of John Thomas and Mary Brown Mitchell. She was predeceased by her husbands, Otho Forrest Rountree and James Baggett. She was also predeceased by her sister, Pensie Asher and her brother, Thomas Mitchell. She is survived by her four children and their families; two sons, Jackie Curtis Rountree and his wife, Shirley, of Chesapeake, George Edward Rountree and his wife, Dorothy of Norfolk; two daughters, Elizabeth Mae Griswold and her husband, Don of Hertford, N.C. and Sandra Dorise Tebault of Chesapeake. Margaret had 6 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren ans 11 step-great grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was a long-standing member of Faith Trinity Baptist Church. Margaret worked several years at Mary Jane Bakery and retired from Norfolk General Hospital. She loved to sit and watch birds, knit, crochet, and do word puzzles. She invested many loving years with her grandchildren who always called her "Grandma Tree" and "Granny". The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., on Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 2-4:00 p.m.. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2007 in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the Dr. Kenneth Barnes officiating.
