Margaret graduated from Great Mills High School in Maryland in 1967. She met Craig at church, they married the same year, and were married 55 years.
During their time in Rockville, MD, Margaret worked for the FDA contracting office, had two children, and then provided at home daycare for other children when she began staying home to care for her own. She was active in the Brownie and Girl Scouts troops the girls were part of.
When Craig’s work took the family to Frankfurt, Germany for three years, Margaret worked as a Teacher’s aide at Rhein Mein Elementary. After returning from Germany, she worked as a civil servant for the U.S. Marines as an Imprest Fund Cashier, working her way up to Purchasing Agent, Level III Contracting Officer. During this same period, Margaret was very active as a Band Booster supporting the marching and concert bands that Sonja and Carissa were in throughout middle and high school.
In addition to this, she and Craig found it in their hearts to open their home to two foreign exchange students, Julia from Germany, and Ilona from Finland, when their own daughters flew the coop.
From 2007 to 2015 she worked for Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG) a.k.a. DEVGRU as a Purchasing Agent. She loved all U.S. Military members she worked for and with, and all of her colleagues. She made many lasting and special friendships throughout her career.
Margaret was a member at Kempsville Christian Church (KCC) for many years. She began going with a dear friend in the early nineties. She enjoyed being part of the Puppet Ministry, Children’s Ministry working the church nursery, and the Mary Martha Ministry. She has made many lasting and special friendships through KCC over the years. Recently she had been attending sermons virtually.
