Martha Mitschke Teague, 73, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in Norfolk, VA. Martha, affectionately known as Marti, was born in Hoboken, NJ to the late Rudy and Gertrude Mitschke. She is also predeceased by her brother, Frederick Mitschke and her sister, Louise McArthur.
She is cherished in memory by her husband, John William Teague; daughters, Jeannette West and her husband, David, and Carrie Saich; grandchildren, Holly West, William West and Kyle Saich.
Marti was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She immensely enjoyed traveling with her family especially to Hawaii and Disney World. She also had a deep love for spending time during the summer at the family vacation home at Lake Gaston.
The family kindly invites everyone for a time of visitation on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Friday, October 4, 2024 at 12 p.m.
The family welcomes everybody to fellowship at a reception held at Jeannette’s home following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Sepsis Alliance.
