She was born in Oil City, PA, on September 7th, 1937. While there she attended various schools through February 1957. She was transferred to McDowell Senior High School in Erie, PA. There she met her future husband William (Bill) Braund Jr. They were married on August 2nd, 1958 and one year later moved to Norfolk, VA where Bill was stationed. During their 66 years of marriage they were stationed in various locations following Bill's Navy ships' home ports. In 1970, while Bill was stationed in Columbus, Ohio, Mary attended Ohio State Cosmetology School and started her first job as a beautician. In 1970, Bill and Mary relocated to Virginia Beach, VA, where she worked as a hair-dresser for 29 years, retiring in 1999. Mary went with God on November 6th, 2024.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 19th at 11am at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
