Norfolk-Mary Elizabeth Halsey, 79, passed away July 7, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Halsey was born September 13, 1930 in Norfolk, VA, a daughter of Mary E. Culpepper and Ingolf Monroe Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Garnett E. Halsey; a daughter, Patricia Ann (Jerry) Rodgers of Huntsville, AL; three sons, William Charles (Debbie) Beachum of Norfolk, Steve Eugene (Peggy) Beachum of Norfolk, and Patrick Abbott Halsey of Norfolk;; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by first husband, Ferrell Wilson Beachum Jr; and brothers, Monroe and Carl Johnson
Mary retired in Civil Service for the government and was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling and loved to travel.
