Mary Frances Quinn, 83, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and Navy veteran, Frances proudly managed The Black Angus Restaurant where she was employed for 54 years. Born April 9, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to Frank and Laura Stewart, Frances was orphaned at the age of six. Growing up in Ormsby Village Youth Home, Frances acquired her exuberance for life, caring nature, and resilience that ultimately made her the beloved centerpiece of her large family and her extended family at The Black Angus. She is loved and remembered by all of those she touched with her positive, tenacious, quick-witted nature, and her life is a reflection of her most firmly held belief: you can achieve anything with enough hard work. Frances is survived by her six children: Deborah (Joseph), Pat (Rick), Sharon, Terry (Don), Stephen (Jennifer), Richard (Julie); 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William G. Quinn. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Immediately followed by a graveside service with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children’s Home Society of Virginia (www.chsva.org).
