Mattie Ruth Talley, 82, passed away April 30, 2016. She was a resident of Norfolk for over 60 years and a member of Grace Baptist Church for 55 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Leon Talley. Mattie’s many talents included gardening, sewing, and quilting. Her gift of gab lead her to meet both young and old; from babies to seniors-no one was spared. Her family and friends were an important aspect of her life. She was a true gentle Southern woman. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Linda Merrell of OK and Wanda Driscoll of PA; son, Wayne Talley of VA and sister, Zoenell Johnson of SC. She is also survived by 4 grandsons and 3 great-grandsons. A visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 6329 E. VA Beach Blvd in Norfolk on May 5th from 11-1 PM with a service to follow immediately. A reception will be held after the burial at Woodlawn.
