Obituary of Mildred H. Parker
On August 16, 2019, God called home one of his sheep to rest in his pasture. Sis. Mildred H. Parker, 89 was born on January 5, 1930 in Portsmouth, Virginia to her late parents Herbert Shelley Hall and Della Mae Bernice Hall. One of 11 children, she is preceded in death by her siblings Milton, Violet, Dolly, Shirley, Herbert, Cherry Delsenia and Clinton Carlton. Mildred is survived by her remaining sisters Daisy Peele and Margarie Gray (Slick). She attended IC Norcom High School in Portsmouth, VA. In addition, retired as Hospitality Manager for Shared Hospital Services after 30 years of faithful service. Sister Mildred was a devoted member of First Baptist Church – Elm Avenue all her life. She was always willing to share sweet words of comfort and knew just what to say to sooth your mind and spirit. She was married to the love of her life on May 16, 1946 to the late Frank Parker who preceded her in death in 2005. This devoted and loving mother had two daughters Laura Cofield and Belinda Avery. Five grandchildren: Terrill Cofield, Anthony Parker, Andre Avery (Stephanie), Arnesha Avery, and Diane Humphries. Her great grandchildren include: Erica Smith (John), Victoria Grant, Raheem Smith, Jasaun Smith, Kyre Bates, Dominique Carpenter, Anabela Avery and the most recent Averii Lee Brown. Her great great grandchildren are: Marqis Smith, Jeyvon Smith, and Jeyden Smith. She was surrounded by an array of nieces, nephews, spiritual children and friends, people who loved her until her passing.
