Millie Irene Jones

CHESAPEAKE Millie Irene Jones, of Chesapeake, born in Martin County, NC, was called home to be with the Lord September 11, 2011 at the age of 85. She was a member of The Living Water Church of God for the last 45 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Dannie Hollis and Alice Hollis, two brothers; James Hollis and John Arthur Wynn, and sister Daisy Lee Hollis. Irene was married for 67 years and is survived by her devoted husband, Earl D. Jones. Her memory will be cherished by her son James Earl Jones and wife Johanna, two daughters, Alice Faye Osborne and husband Larry, and Phyllis Irene Belangia and husband Dennis; grandchildren, Wayne Osborne and wife Orda, of Derby, OH, Kandi Osborne Sampson, Travis Jones, Johnnie Ray Harrison, Jr. and wife Stephanie, Bryon Jones and wife Maria, Brandon Harrison, Joshua, James and Leyanah Belangia, all from Chesapeake, VA; and ten great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and loved her family dearly. More importantly, everyone that knew "Mamie" knew that she loved the Lord with all her heart and served him for the last 63 years. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, September 13, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. The funeral will be at 11 am Wednesday, September 14 at Woodlawn Funeral Home presided by Rev. Jack Sawyer with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
