Myra June Argabrite

Myra June Sisson Argabrite age 90 years 8 months and 26 days passed away quietly at home March 21, 2016. She is predeceased by her mother, Gladys Hamilton Sisson and her father, Leo Byron Sisson and her husband, Russell Reed Argabrite. Her three brothers, Charles Robert Sisson, Stewart Byron Sisson and James Bruce Sisson; four sisters, Virginia Lee Desmond, Mary Lou Robinson, Barbara Ann Collins and Martha Jean Sisson. She is survived by her six children, Martha Irene Cassidy, Raymond Reed Argabrite, Steven Sisson Argabrite (Anita), William David Argabrite (Christina), John Robert Argabrite (Lisa), Amy Argabrite Whisman (Eric); siblings, Ellen Louise Vineyard and John David Sisson (Sharon); 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was an active member of Norview United Methodist Church for 57 years. She was a member of the Methodist Women and member of the choir. She had been Coordinator of the children’s Sunday school and Church Historian and a delegate of the church for Virginia Annual Conference. She was an RN who worked at Norfolk Community Hospital in the new born baby nursery and had been a member of the Army Cadet Nurse Corp during the Second World War.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Norview United Methodist Church, 1112 Norview Ave, Norfolk, VA 23513. There will be a private graveside at Hampton National Cemetery at 1pm, March 29, 2016. Afterward, there will be a memorial service at 3pm, April 29, 2016 at Norview United Methodist Church.
