Myrna Juanita Morris Johnson was born in Richmond, Virginia on November 9, 1931 to Elsie Harding Morris and Lewis Welford Morris. Raised in Dayton, Virginia, with a brother Glenn Morris, Myrna graduated in 1953 from the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor's Degree of Music Education, she taught music at J.E.B. Stuart School in Norfolk - where she met Joseph Elvin Johnson, an Army veteran of the World War Two Pacific Campaign. The married in 1954, and moved from Norfolk to Princess Anne County (which became the City of Virginia Beach in 1963) in 1957 where, in April of the following year, they brought home a son born in Norfolk - Kenneth Morris Johnson.
They gave to their son the kind of warm, loving, stable and wonderful home that every child should have - no one could have ever had a better childhood. Myrna taught piano at home for 50 years and was a volunteer pianist at Thalia Lynne, Glengariff, Aragona, and First Baptist Churches; while Joe worked in sales for the Old Dominion Paper Company and the Dillard Paper Company for 33 years. He was called Home by The Lord on January 15, 2008. His loving bride waited until November 12, 2009 to join him. They are both greatly loved and missed by their son, Kenneth; his wife Crystal Marie Johnson, and a grandson Phillip.
Myrna Johnson asked that contributions be made to either the Bible Broadcasting Network at PO Box 7300, Charlotte NC 28254 - or Shenandoah University at 1460 University Drive, Winchester VA 22601.
