

Norma Rae Boyer passed away on July 15, 2026 at 96 years of age. Born in Salt Lake City Utah on September 14, 1929 to parents Emil Axel and Blanche Henrie Ostlund, Norma had a happy childhood in Springville, Utah. She attended BYU for two years before marrying Jerrol Moss Boyer on October 20, 1949. Norma and Jerrol were married for 58 years and raised four handsome boys. While Jerrol pursued a career in hospitality, Norma kept the home fires burning. They lived in a number of places, among them upstate New York and Virginia, finally settling in Virginia Beach.
Norma was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many leadership positions throughout her life including an extended mission of service in the Washington D.C. temple.
These past five years, she has been lovingly cared for by her daughter-in-law, Linda and son John at her home in Virginia Beach.
Norma is survived by her four sons, Steven Jerrol, Eric Emil, John Selvoy, David Henrie, their spouses, 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and all those who loved her, but she lived a full long life and is now at rest with her mother, father and husband in heaven.
A family graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
