Oscar Otto Johnson

Oscar Johnson was born on April 18, 1929, to Horace and Mary Johnson in Horry County, South Carolina.

The family later moved to Norfolk, VA. when Oscar was around 8 years old. Oscar grew up in a neighborhood called Carney Park in Titustown with his five siblings. The family attended First Baptist Logan Park. Oscar attended Booker T. Washington High School, in Norfolk before joining the Army.

Oscar married Frances Emma Brothers (deceased) and from this union they had three children; Rickey Johnson (deceased), Frances Janet Rodriquez, (deceased) and Christine Smith in. Later he married Chong Johnson (deceased).

During his military career he saw WWII, the Vietnam, and Korean War.

As well as being a Veteran, Oscar loved to fish, paint and wood crafts.

Oscar leaves to cherish his memories; his sister Angeline Spencer of Norfolk, VA, his daughter Christine Smith, four grandchildren, nieces, nephews and an extended family of great nieces and great nephews.
