Pearl Walsh passed away peacefully Friday, May 25, 2012. Pearl began her military career in 1942 and served her country honorably in World War II, attaining the rank of Supply Corp Chief in the Navy before being honorably discharged in 1953. Pearl met the love of her life while in the Navy and was married to John P. Walsh, Jr. in 1949. They were married for 55 years before Pearl’s husband was called to heaven where he waited for his loving wife.
Pearl was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Mary Walsh-Bishop and husband Frank of St. Croix, VI and Jacqueline Patricia Walsh-Butler and husband Larry of Virginia Beach, 7 grandchildren and one great granddaughter Abigail Elise Long.
A gravesite memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Wednesday, May 30, 2012, 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA. Woodlawn Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Blvd., will be handling the arrangements.
