

Born April 7, 1932 in Brunswick, Maryland, she was the daughter of A.F. “Tete” and Nellie V. (Green) Roby. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School where she participated in school productions and sports. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick, where she sang in the choir, and the Women of the Moose Chap. 660, where she held many chairs. Phyllis was retired from the National Geographic Society.
She is survived by children, John Roby Morsberger and wife Michelle of Norfolk; James M. Morsberger and wife Laura of Ottumwa, Iowa; JoEllen Fisher and husband “Tee” of Brunswick; and Jeanell Willis and husband George of Norfolk.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Welthey Morsberger, John Fisher, Janice Swegan, Jaclyn Smith, Jennifer O’Neill, James Morsberger, James Fisher, Jenna Morsberger, Joseph Fisher, Janna Willis, Joy MacVittie, Jessica Willis, Jeanette Morsberger; and great-grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Jason, Suz, Ali, Braylen, Kyleigh, Jaclyn, and Brennan. She will be greatly missed by cousin, Barbara Ruth Desiderio and husband George.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1st at Lake Taylor Hospital, Norfolk, with Chaplain Victor Philip officiating. There will also be a service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8th at First Baptist Church, Brunswick, led by Associate Pastor Bill Turney. Interment will be private.
