

Richard, lovingly known as Dicky, is predeceased by his parents, the late Harold and Etelvina Kent; brother, William Daryl Kent and sisters, Lilia Rosa Moreno and Patricia María Kent. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Elizabeth; sons, Richard and Johnny; daughters, Katherine and Helen and grandchildren, Brody, Richie, Reagan, Mikah, Mia, and Jack. Dicky was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who adored his family and was a big part of all of their lives. He will be missed tremendously.
Dicky was born in Panama City, Panama on October 14, 1940. After high school, Dicky enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served 26 years and was honorably discharged in 1988. In the early part of his military career, Dicky was assigned to the NATO International Forces where he served as an Instructor and Inspector on Military and NATO equipment. He later served as a radar repairman for the 101st Airborne Division. Dicky culminated his military career as the First Sergeant of the Headquarters Company, 11th Transportation Battalion, in Fort Story, Virginia. There he led a company of 210 soldiers. Dicky was decorated with the Good Conduct, Meritorious, National Defense Service, and Joint Service Commendation Medals, among many other prestigious badges and awards.
Dicky graduated from the Sergeant Major Academy. He attended Laverne and Austin Peay University, where he studied Electronics and Communications Systems. He also attained his Real Estate License from Alpha School of Real Estate, as well as his Private Investigator Certification.
Following his military career, Dicky began his civilian career at Norshipco, where he was classified as a First Class Marine Electrician, performing all sources of electrical/electronic work on civilian, naval, and Coast Guard ships.
Dicky was fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, and spoke some German. He was a passionate guitar player, and enjoyed singing, dancing, jogging, and spending time with family.
