He leaves his wife of 53 years, June (Bug) Liverman McLendon, sister Edith Hedgepeth, sons David & wife Carolyn, Craig & wife Josie, Tim & wife MaryAnn, daughter Rebecca & husband David Cropp. He had nine grandchildren, David Jr. & wife Christina, Ashlee, Caleb, Barrett, Daniel, Kylie, Emily, Morghan, and Rachael, Great-grandson, Ryan, and many nieces and nephews.
He was known at home as Wimpy, uncle Wimp, Grandad, and Great-grandad. At church he was known as Ron and at work he was known as Mac or Mr. Mac. He was proud of his wife, children, and family, whom he loved very much. We knew him most for his Love and Service to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ron was a dedicated Deacon at his church. He was also a dedicated Sunday School Teacher for 35 years. The family was told on numerous occasions that dad was the best Sunday School Teacher they had ever heard. Dad studied daily for his Sunday school lesson, to his children that was known as quite time, DO NOT DISTURB...Mac retired after 43 years of service to The Virginia Department Of Transportation and several consulting firms. Mac loved his VDOT family and friends, many of which visited him until his passing. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Mrs. Mac and the family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hall and Heartland Hospice for their love, care, and compassion for Mr. and Mrs. Mac for the last three years. Mrs. Mac would especially like to thank CNA's, Chantese, Valerie, Jackie, Sonya, Kris, and Thelma. Hospice Chaplain, Ms. Ruby, Caprice, Tina, and Donna. The Family would also like to thank Carolyn McLendon, Teresa Smith, Earline Smith and Charles Atkinson. Your dedication to dad can never be repaid. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Although he was known by many different names, his four children had the honor and privilege of calling him Dad. We will miss our dad's Love, Friendship, and Compassion. Nothing on this earth will fill our void. Until we meet again dad "WE LOVE AND MISS YOU" For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord will give to me. 2 Timothy 4: 6 - 8.
