Ronald Earl Oldfield, 91, passed away February 11, 2024 with his loving wife and daughter by his side. Ronald was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Leroy and Bonnie Davis Oldfield. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Dental Officer and retired as a Captain after 38 years of service.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Kay; son, Mark; daughter, Donna Hope; grandchildren, Walker Hope, Macrae Hope and Derek Oldfield, as well as many wonderful family friends.
After his retirement, he enjoyed teaching the Fellowship class at Church, painting, working in the garden, relaxing by the pool, and spending time with his grandsons.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Ron’s life at Community United Methodist Church, 1072 Old Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers his family asks that memorial donations be made to Community United Methodist Church. His ashes will be returned to the ocean in a Full Military Honor Burial at Sea Ceremony at a later date.
