Passed away, at home, in her sleep, the morning of August 4th 2020 at the age of 65. She was born to Carl Madison Roe, and Hellen Howell, on February 19th 1955 in Chilhowie, Virginia. She was the fifth of seven Roe children, and called herself number 5 with pride. Sandra worked for several years in the nursing field, ultimately culminating in her 15 years with Portsmouth Gastrology, as charge nurse. Having been raised in the Colonial Heights area of Virginia, she considered herself a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a fellowship her family had attended since moving to Colonial Heights, in the early 1960’s and still attends to this day.
Sandra is predeceased by her Parents, Carl Madison Roe, and Hellen Howell; Two Brothers, Edward and Gene Roe; Two Sisters, Linda Bryant and Carolyn Jones. She is survived by her two sisters, Brenda Meade and Teresa Witte.
Sandra was proud of raising three “big” boys, Brian 39, Kevin 37, and Kyle 32.
Sandra was even more proud of her Grandchildren, Kevin Patrick Smith II, “Patrick”, Addison Smith, Sadie Smith, and Morgan Smith. They all cherished their grandmother, and each were fortunate enough to have amazing personal relationships with their ”Nana”.
Having come from such a big family, Sandra was adamant about keeping family close and making sure everyone who was in the family knew they were part of something special. She adored her Nieces and Nephews and took pride in her family name. Her loyalty to family, was only surpassed by her faith in the Lord. “I know where I am going”, she would always say, with a wink and a finger pointing up.
