She was born in Norfolk VA on September 6, 1959 to the late Roger and Mary Bunch. She was also predeceased by her brother Floyd C. Bunch. She grew up surrounded by family, friends and church.
Sherry graduated from Booker T Washington High School in Norfolk Virginia and worked for approximately 12 years as a Dental Assistant. She was then Self-Employed and worked up until her cancer diagnosis in June 2026. She was so dearly loved by her customers. She also worked part-time at Bojangles and for a couple of years and made several close friends. She loved working in the yard and taking short vacations to the mountains. She and her longtime friend Donna were caretakers for many baby kittens over the years, until they were adopted.
Sherry handled her illness with courage and grace. Thank you to the staff of Birchwood Park Rehabilitation and Nursing who treated Sherry with respect and love.
She is survived by her sister Sandra Spicer (David): niece, Lori Melton (James): great nieces Hailey and Reagan Melton: and sister-in-law, Susan Bunch Alvarez.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday,
September 4, 2026, 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
