Mrs. Shirley Jean Sides, 79, died Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was in home Hospice at the residence of her daughter Beverly Fleming. She passed away quietly with friends and family near her. Shirley was a Navy wife, loving mother and grandmother and had a fulfilling career as a nurse and was a counselor at CBN and designed jewelry as a hobby.
Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Donald Fleming. She is survived by her three daughters, Debra Etkins of Davidsonville, MD, Beverly Fleming of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jacquelyn Sides of Alton, VA; and grandson Blake Sparks. She is also survived by four of her five brothers, Jesse Fleming, Robert Fleming, Gary Fleming and Jack Fleming. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
