On January 7, 2019, Ugertha Christine Doles, answered the call from heaven after enjoying 90 years of life with her family of origin. A native of Roxboro, N.C., she received two Masters degrees with honors from NSU in Sociology and Gerontology. She leaves to cherish five children: Gwendolyn Staton Matarita, Jesse Doles, Jr., Dannis Doles, Cheryl Doles, and Reginald Doles, all of Norfolk, three in-laws, one sister, one sister-in-law, eight grands, 15 great-grands, one great-great-grand, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many church friends.
Wake service will be held on Friday at 6:30 PM and the funeral on Saturday at 1:00 PM, with viewing at 12 noon at First Church of Christ Holiness, 862 E. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, VA. Interment will be held on Monday at 12 noon at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
