I'm saddened to learn of Vanilla's passing.  Vanilla was always such a pleasant person and brought her smile to work each day! She is truly missed, but there is great honor in knowing and working with her.  My condolences to the family and friends! - Leila Malik, Xerox 


My heart is truly sadden to hear of this news of Vanilla. When it comes to a women of God and a Heart of Gold her picture would be next to these words. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. I’m completely shocked and I can’t believe she’s gone. Rest in heavenly peace, until we meet again. 

I just found out of the passing of Ms. Vanilla. My condolences to her love ones and especially her mother.  She always had a sweet calm spirit when she would service my copier at the shipyard.  She often would talk about her nieces and nephews. You could feel the love. I will miss seeing her. God has a angel .

To the Christian Family,

Ms. Vanilla was truly a pleasure to be around. I met her at my job because she would be the one who brought our Xerox supplies for the devices in our building. We would often talk when she came in the building and she was one of those people who could make anyone feel good on any given day. I don’t even think she realized how much of an impact she had on all of us here who worked with her. We will truly miss her and her beautiful smile!

Vanilla was a wonderful and kind lady, always greeted you with a smile. We worked for a time side by side at Xerox and she made work a pleasant experience. Her kind ways and beautiful smile will certainly be missed.

Vanilla was a true friend, during the years I've known her.  Her smile could light up any room and that sweet spirit she carried. RIP my dear sister, you've won your battle. My prayers for the family. 🙏🙏🙏

 Please be comforted by her life well lived and loved. My memories are of Vanilla’s bright smile, excitable conversations, her  love for Momma,  her sisters Shirley and Nita.  

She cherished her sister-in-law Natasha. 

She simply adored each and every one of her nieces and nephews.  Aunt Vanilla simply glowed when talking of times spent together with her nieces and nephews. 

You heard the  honor she felt being “big sister” to her brothers Paul, Haroll and Bob when speaking of them.

Vanilla worked in my building at NNS.  I enjoyed talking to her about vacation spots.  She was always so pleasant and her smile was always, always shining!! She had the sweetest personality.  We would come out in the evening together and would stop and talk in the parking lot.  I will truly miss her. Rest in perfect peace Vanilla. Prayers are being lifted for the Christian family. 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽

To Aunt Sophia and family,
We were saddened to hear about the passing of our beautiful cousin Vanilla.  We will always remember and cherish the memories that we shared especially when she was one of our bridesmaids in our wedding 30 years ago and for all 3 births of our children, you both would be sure to come and visit.  I will always remember the fun times that we shared as little kids playing down through the years. May God continue to be your strength in the days to come and cherish the memories of this sweet young lady. Rest in peace our dear cousin Vanilla.

She always brightened my day whenever I was in her presence or when I was talking to Anita on the phone and she would say hello. I was so saddened to hear about the loss of Vanilla. One of my earliest memories is seeing Vanilla in her crib after she was born. I was three years old and was I so excited to see her! She was a beautiful baby! Vanilla was the sweetest, and nicest person anyone could ever meet and to be in her presence would always bring a smile to your face; especially when she and Anita would start giggling! The Bible says that a tree is known by its fruit. And that is so true. Vanilla was a source of strength, peace, goodness and light; a reflection of a wonderful family of which Aunt Sophia should be so very proud. I know in my heart and soul that Vanilla is with the family in heaven and will continue to watch over her family on earth. My prayers will continue to go up for Aunt Sophia and the family during this time of bereavement. I’m so sorry for the loss of Vanilla here on earth family but so happy that Jesus has claimed her as His own!

I'm so thankful to be your cousin. Nothing can erase your awesome smile with pearly white teeth just glowing . It felt like I had a big sis with all those pep talks .
You have shown  an amazing  consistency  of hard work and dedicated your free time nurturing others needs! Never thought I wouldn't see you again. Thank you for the best greetings/hugs and just warm hearted love you poured into all the family.

I have truly loss a dear friend not only was she a friend she was to me a little sister. we were in touch over the years after I retired from Xerox.I take comfort in the fact that I got to talk to her the day before her passing and that she knew God and that her time was at hand rest in peace my dear friend we loved you but God loved you best. 

Vanilla was one of the first people I met when I first started at Xerox.  She always had a smile and a kind word.  I always looked forward to hearing her say, "Good morning David and how are we this morning".  Rest in peace my friend till we see each other again on God's golden shores.
