Willard (Bill) H. Pearce

Willard H. (Bill) Pearce, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on May 14, 2012. Bill retired from the Navy as Chief Petty Officer with 30 years of service. He served in World War II, Vietnam and Korean wars. He was awarded many metals of honor during his years of service in the Navy. He was the son of the late Richard and Allie Talton Pearce of Princeton, NC. He is preceded in death by 4 sisters and a brother. Bill is survived by his wife Lillian R. Pearce of 54 years, sons Randy L. Pearce of Chesapeake, Va., and James R. Pearce of Norfolk, Va., granddaughter Trina Pearce of Virginia Beach, and grandson Christopher Pearce of Chesapeake, Va. He is also survived by a brother Alton Pearce of Princeton, N.C. and sisters Allie (Ruth) Lane of Selma, N.C., Grace P. Tyner and Betsy R. Ingram of Goldsboro, N.C., and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 19 from 11-12pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk and where a funeral service will follow at 12:00pm in the chapel with interment following in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
