He was born in Tennesee on November 20, 1942, the son of the late Eugene and Ruth Ross. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Eugene Ross; and his daughter, Dorothy Christine Ross. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Ross; his daughters, Robin Ross, Dawn Ross, and Mitchelle Ebron; his son, Michael Ross; his sisters, Patricia Wilkerson, Patricia Franklin, Lori Ross, and Karen Speight; his brothers, Ricky Ross, Gary Ross, Myke Ross, and Ricky Williams; and a host of extended family and friends.
William was a veteran of the US Army, was a God-faring man, and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Virginia Beach who sang in the men’s choir. He was a simple man who loved animals, good jokes, and the outdoors-especially bar-b-ques and fishing. His hobbies included making bird houses, and cooking, and he never missed an episode of his favorite TV shows. William had a sweet-tooth, and loved his candy and bubble gum.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 6-8 PM and a funeral service on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 1 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502 with a burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
