Adelina Howard
July 11, 1927 – August 1, 2022

Adelina Howard departed this earthly plane 8/01/2022, she was 95. Adelina was born 7/11/1927 to Felipe Martinez and Maria Martinez (Solis) in El Paso, Tx. She is the oldest of 10 brothers and sisters. Adelina would graduate from Bowie High School in 1945. Adelina met and married Charles Howard while he was stationed at Fort Bliss Army Base near El Paso. They wed on 5/25/1952. Adelina and Charles were blessed with three children, Curtis, Paula, and Michael.
Adelina was known for being a hardworking individual. As a young woman, she would earn money by ironing military uniforms for the enlisted while stationed in El Paso. She would use the money she made to buy clothes and small toys for her siblings. Adelina worked for Liberty National Bank until the 1980’s, she would later retire from OU at the age of 83.
Adelina’s proudest moments were sharing home cooked meals with friends and family. Many would come from far and wide to have her famous cheese and onion enchiladas! To this day people rave of her cheese sauce and enchiladas.
She loved having a house filled with family and friends. Many times making pallets on the floor for everyone and sharing the single bathroom in the house, you were always hoping to have hot water for your shower.
Holidays were especially favorite times for Adelina. Baking cookies, fudge and bread to send care packages home to her siblings. Later the siblings would share stories of how they cleverly hid the care package to stretch the goodies that much longer refusing to share with others.
Adelina was patient and showed kindness to the people she loved and met. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren forming special bonds with them. Adelina was always there with advice or to lend an ear when one had trouble or teach you over the phone how to properly roast a chicken.
Adelina is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Howard, Son Michael Howard, Grandson Michael Foust, and Sister Regina Duchane.
Survivors of Adelina’s are Son Curtis Howard, Daughter Paula Anglin, Grandson Jason Foust, Granddaughter Liddie Jester, and multiple great grandchildren.
