After a courageous fight with Alzheimer’s, Aline Merrell-Shipp passed away on November 16, 2015 at age 87. She was born in Paris France in 1928 where at age 17 she met Lue Merrell, during World War II. They married in 1946 and settled on a farm east of Norman where she has lived ever since. Also, as a lover of nature, Aline had many many pets throughout the years, including her beloved cat Nanette. Some of her favorite pastimes were vegetable and flower gardening, cooking for the family and going to Lake Eufaula to enjoy good times with them. She also enjoyed walking outdoors and watching all of the wildlife that came to her home, especially the birds and squirrels.
Aline was preceded in death by her beloved son Bernard Merrell, her parents, her brother and her sister in law.
