Anita Rose Callahan went to experience the love and healing hands of her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Sunday, June 5, 2022. She passionately loved her Savior Jesus Christ, her husband of nearly 30 years Charles, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her friends. She found joy in cooking family meals, decorating her home for holidays, traveling near and far, and most recently, cuddling her great-grandchildren and laughing with her friends. Each day she prayed fervently for her family members by name, providing a foundation of faith for multiple generations.
Anita was born October 9, 1948, and made lasting friendships throughout her life starting in Arcadia, KS, then in Bartlesville, OK, and finally in Norman, OK, as well as stops in Maryland, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Missouri. Her career over a 40-year span included managing dental offices where the patients became friends she cared deeply about, and the staff became like family.
She is survived by her children: Mark (Rebecca) Nichols, and Michael (Amanda) Nichols; sister Marilyn Snyder; grandchildren Taylor (Nathan) LaBuda, Cooper (Allie) Nichols, and Noah Nichols; and great-grandchildren Collins LaBuda and Clark Nichols. She is proceeded in death by her husband Charles Callahan, her father Leslie Gene Miles, her mother Shirley Kirksey Miles Vigil, her brother Mitchell Miles, and two incredibly important women of faith who raised Anita, her grandmother Mary Kirksey and her aunt Betty Kirksey.
Her absence will leave an empty place in our hearts, but we celebrate her eternal life with our Heavenly Father and cherish the memories of her love.
