

He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935 and work in New Mexico and Colorado. Arthur enlisted in the Army in 1940 where he served for five years in the First Cavalry Division as a Radio Scout Car Driver, Technician 5th Grade. His tour of duty included two years overseas in New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelageo and the Philippines.
In May 1947, Arthur was employed at Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City, Oklahoma as a test equipment repairer. He retired from Tinker AFB after 31 years of service.
On July 12, 1947, Arthur married Mary Ellis Mauldin. They were married 55 years prior to her death December 24, 2002.
Arthur had a great sense of humor and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities. He also enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Vada Dye; brothers Herschel Dye, Marvin Dye, Warren Glenn Dye; sisters Thelma Hunt, and Irma Phillips.
He is survived by his children Donella Dye, Delayne Dye and wife Donna, and Diana Dye, all of Norman. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Arthur will be remembered by his family and friends as gentle, kind, and loving husband and father.
