Forever Young - Audrey Grace Gray was born and immediately earned her angel wings late in the evening on 11-25-20. Although medically she was far from it, in our eyes she was perfect! She is our 3rd child but unlike her big brothers she will not come home from the hospital with us. Most will only know us as parents to boys but we are so thankful that we were chosen to be the parents of our beautiful girl, if only for such a short time. Even knowing how it would end, saying goodbye to her is the hardest thing we have ever done and most likely will ever have to do. There is nothing different we could have done, but there is also nothing we would not have done for her. She was not planned, but was wanted and loved. Anytime we see an empty chair at our table or walk by the room that would have been hers we will pause and wonder what she would have grown up to be - would she have Hudson’s irresistible dimples or Beckett’s mischievous smile, beautiful eyes like daddy or finally one with beautiful, dark hair like mommy?
Right now we don’t feel strong or brave. We won’t ever understand the unknown of this all, but our small solace is that she will never feel any pain, and we find comfort in knowing how loved she is. Her brothers births were announced with celebration and joy, and she deserves to be celebrated. Audrey, we will always love you! We will always miss you. We were not waiting for you to become a part of our family...you always were. What a glorious day that will be when we meet again in Heaven! Until then save a place for us!
In addition to her parents, R.J. and Jecole Gray, she is survived by her big brothers Hudson and Beckett, maternal grandparents Jeff and Carole Craig, paternal grandmother Melinda Gray, four uncles, six aunts, numerous cousins, and other relatives and friends who loved her. She was proceeded in death by her uncle Micah Craig and her paternal grandfather Jesse Gray.
Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while - Author William Goldman.
