Barbara Jean Brawner was born April 2, 1939, in Chicago, IL to the union of Clyde Sr. and Edith Bell Hartzog. She attended the Chicago public school system and was a graduate of Inglewood High School.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Donald Brawner Sr. Known to all as Mommy; Barbara confessed Christ at a very early age. She became a member of New friendship Baptist Church, Chicago, IL under the pastorship of Dr. Simmons.
She was a faithful member of the order of Elks lodge Chicago chapter. Mommy’s compassion for kids was well known throughout her life long career as a child care provider.
Mommy was preceded in death by her parents (Clyde and Edith Hartzog). Her husbands Donald Sr. and Edwin Johnson, Her siblings (Joyce Harrell, Clyde Hartzog and Rose Porche’) One son (Thomas F. Brawner) and one daughter (Rozetta Johnson)
Barbara leaves to mourn in passing Children, (Donald Jr, Edith Inez, Belinda, Clyde Earl, LaWanda Yvonne, LaDonna, Mary Louise, Marcelle Monique, Anthony Bernard). Uncles, (Thomas, JR, Willard) Aunts, (Doris, Esther), In-Laws (James, Bernadean) grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
