Barbara Dean Hodges

Barbara Dean (Williams) Hodges passed away peacefully at her home on October 28, 2022, to be with her Lord at the age of 81. Barbara Dean was born in Wilburton Oklahoma on February 9, 1941. She is preceded in death by John Dee Putman, who she had 2 children with, Charles Clark, who she had 1 child with, and Dennis A. Hodges who she spent 38 loving years with. She is remembered by her children, Brenda Putman Rhyne, Ferlen Putman, Donald Clark, and Cora Greene, 5 generations in all. She had 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Barbara loved roses, her vegetable gardens, and her family. She was our “Ma”, friend, inspiration, and mentor. She taught us to be independent, strong, levelheaded and to always do and be our best. She was a very kind person and held a very complex family together during trying times, happy times, and even the sad times. She will always be in our hearts, and we will always miss you and love you.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at the Hilltop Baptist Church at 1170 E. Stella Rd. in Norman Ok, on November 18, 2022 at 11AM. A reception will take place after celebration in the fellowship hall.
