

She was born March 14, 1930, in Katie, OK, to Frank and Margie Walters. She graduated with honors from Pernell Schools, where she was an outstanding basketball player and student. On September 26, 1952, in Oklahoma City, she married E.J. Tucker. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2017.
Betty was a wonderful mother and it was her life’s passion. She loved to decorate for all the holidays and do arts and crafts. She was a wonderful seamstress and she could make everything from Barbie doll clothes to wedding gowns. Betty was always great with numbers due to her sharp memory. She enjoyed bowling for Wilson Foods and worked for many years as a bookkeeper for numerous companies, including Merrill-Lynch, Bell Telephone, and for Joe Bailey Cobb in the Oklahoma State Auditor’s office. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter Jill Shaw and husband Patrick of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter Gail Grego of Norman, Oklahoma; son Ross Tucker and wife J.J. of Davis, Oklahoma; son Jeff Tucker and wife Lisha of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Lindsey DeBerry and husband Jason; Reagan Tucker; Joshua Grego; Blanton Tucker; Emma Tucker; and Lily Tucker; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Raphael; siblings Geraldine Hodges, and Wynema Johnson and husband Arnold; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother-in-law Bill Hodges.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Primrose Funeral Service, Norman, OK. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 27, 2018, at Mayridge Baptist Church, 4617 S. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73119. Brother Charles Melton and Kurt Phipps will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Foster Cemetery, Foster, OK.
