Known most of her life as Sue, she was born on February 23, 1931, in Durant, Oklahoma, to John William Frederick Keeling and Hazel Eeds Keeling. She spent her life building lasting friendships, cherishing her family, serving others with a quiet, steadfast heart, and being proud of her Choctaw nation heritage.
Sue married Robert H. Jansing and from that union was blessed with three children Robert, Suzanne, and Steven.
Sue was a graduate of Apache High School with the class of 1949. Following her education, which included attending Cameron University, Sue dedicated 25 years of service to the State of Oklahoma, retiring from Griffin Memorial (formerly Central State Hospital), where she worked in the hospital's supply and inventory division. She was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and caring spirit.
A longtime member of First Christian Church of Norman, Sue found great joy in her church family. She especially treasured her time with the Christian Association of Retired Members (CHARM), where she formed many meaningful friendships and participated in countless activities that enriched her life.
Sue loved traveling with family and friends, listening to the timeless music of Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, Perry Como, and the Big Band era, and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners. A devoted OU football fan, she proudly climbed to the top rows of Owen Field to watch the Sooners play well into her late seventies, a testament to her enthusiasm and determination.
More than anything, Sue loved spending time with those she held dear. She taught her family the importance of loving unconditionally, appreciating life's simple blessings, and finding joy in everyday moments. She will be remembered as a woman whose greatest treasures were her family, her friends, and her faith.
Sue is survived by her son Robert Frederick Jansing; daughter, Suzanne Annesley and husband Don; granddaughter Leesa Annesley; grandson Jon Annesley and wife Julianne; great-grandchildren, Zyta and Ayda Torabi; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Sue also shared a special bond with her longtime friend, Stephanie Gasaway, director of the CHARM ministry at First Christian Church, and considered Bernadette Wile her surrogate granddaughter, a relationship that brought her much joy.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; sister Betty June Piacenti; and son Steven Craig Jansing.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Christian Association of Retired Members (CHARM) at First Christian Church of Norman.
A Celebration of Sue's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the sanctuary of First Christian Church, 220 S. Webster Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma.
