She was born on August 24, 1936, to Idella Pearl Newton and Wesley Wayne Glancy in Clinton, Oklahoma. Bonnie (Bon) and Erwin (Tink) were high school sweethearts and married on August 22, 1955 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Until his death in 1989, she was married to Erwin Tinker for over 33 years and had a family of three sons and one daughter.
Bonnie remarried in 1995 to Jack Penny. Both were retired and lived on five acres outside of Norman, Oklahoma. They loved travelling, especially to Anchorage, Alaska to visit his son, Warren. One of the highlights of a trip to California was the opportunity to do a tandem skydive from 12,500 feet at the age of 61 -- a great example of her spirit of adventure, joy and fearlessness. In addition, her favorite past-time and passion was decorative painting, and over many years, produced hand-painted pictures, furniture and decorative objects.
Bonnie is survived by three sons and one daughter. Her eldest son, Thomas and wife Renee of Edmond and their nine children including Amy and husband Daniel and three great grandchildren, Drew, Elise and Lucas, Michael and wife Jen, Katie and husband Jeff, Hannah and husband John and their daughter Olivia; Matthew, Daniel, Stephen, Joel and the youngest granddaughter, Brooklyn. Terry of Tulsa and Tim and his wife Monica and their child, Vitale, of Garrett Park, Maryland; and daughter, Tami and husband Anthony of Norman, and their two children, Emma and Ethan. From the Penny family, one step son, Warren Penny of Washington State and one step daughter, Susan and her husband Jack Chrisenberry of Florida and their three children Brianne, Triston and Savannah.
Bonnie finished the journey of life with fullness of heart, as a good and faithful steward to our Lord Jesus Christ, and a loving wife and mother to her family who cherished every moment of who she was and the eternal legacy she imparted to her family, friends and community.
