Carol Kay Fisher

June 2, 1941November 25, 2019

Carol Kay Fisher passed on November 25, 2019 in her home in Norman, Oklahoma.

Carol was born on June 2, 1941 to Gerald Davis Wilkins and Marguerite (Vanderpool) Wilkins in Wichita, Kansas. When Carol was in the 4th grade the family moved from Newton, Kansas to Enid, Oklahoma. Carol was a 1959 graduate of Enid High School where she played clarinet in the high school band.

In the fall of 1959, Carol began attending Oklahoma State University, where she met Lawrence D. Fisher. They fell in love, married in September of 1960, and started a family. The young family lived in El Paso and Bryan, Texas before settling in Norman, Oklahoma.

Carol was a resident of Norman for over 50 years. During her time in Norman she became a Certified Medical Assistant while working with a surgeon's office. She worked for the office for over 20 years. In addition to working, she was active in her children's school and sports activites.

Carol had a passion for gardening and scrapbooking . Her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers and seasonal decorations and she spent many hours scrapbooking with friends. The beautiful pages she created were then often gifted to family and friends.

Carol loved spending time with her family, especially time with her precious grandchildren.

Carol had a generous heart and didn't know a stranger. She was kind, helpful, and friendly to everyone.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter Ann Marie (Fisher) Weathersby.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Lisa Carver, Larry Fisher and wife Christy Fisher, her brother Gerald Wilkins, her grandchildren: AJ Carver, April Girga, Justin Carver, Corey (Fisher) Smith, Laurianne Fisher, Jake Weathersby, Bryanne Weathersby, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her memorial service will be Monday, December 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Blanchard First Baptist Church located at 919 NE 10th St, Blanchard, OK 73010.

I'm sorry for your loss! She was wonderful lady who was incredibly thoughtful by sharing newspaper clippings that would remind her of 'you' and scrapbooking items. I will miss her greatly, especially when I see a commercial for a Lifetime movie. I'm grateful that she was in my life.

I'm saddened to hear of Carol's passing, she was such a sweet gentle lady.
We met the Fisher family in the 4-H horse club,
Carol was always helpful and willing to offer helpful newcomers we were grateful.
She always had a smile and a gentle way about her.
My sympathies to Carol's family.
Your loved one was loved by so many .
May you find comfort and strength in all your memories and Gods promises.

Our hearts are sad. The Osburns and the Fishers go back over 50 years being neighbors, working colleagues and good friends. Carol and Judy shared their love of horses. Carol took the reins of the 4-H Trail blazers Horse Club from Judy when the Osburn girls went to college. We will miss her sweet spirit.

Carol and my Dad were great friends and shared their love of horses. Skip-a-Cat Balieu was their show horse. Carol was a lovely woman and a friend to our family. I am so sorry to learn of her passing. You are all in my prayers. Cheryl

Having never known my own grandparents, Carol stepped into that role for me 12 years ago when I was her neighbor in Norman. She treated me (and my husband) like family, she was the kindest person and I treasure all the memories we made together. Over the weekend I was so glad to be able to tell Carol that we were expecting our second child with a planned delivery date of her birthday, June 2nd. She was so excited and said that lifted her spirits. Now, more than ever, I hope that happens to honor her even more. She was the best and I am so thankful to have had her in my life!!
