Carolyn Boice Rogers
December 15, 1934 – October 19, 2019
Carolyn Boice Rogers, 84, surrounded by her beloved family went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 19, 2019. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.
Carol was born on December 15, 1934, in Trenton, NJ to Nelson and Edith (Gibby) Boice. She was a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey and went on to receive a nursing degree from the University of Connecticut School of Nursing.
She was a loving mother of 4 children, Jim, Bonnie, Cathy and Pete. After living in both Germany and Florida, Carol moved to Oklahoma where she lived most of her life. She enjoyed being involved in all the activities with her children such as Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Brownie Den Mother, PTA, and Sunday school.
Carol was an amazing Christian woman who dearly loved God and her church. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, the Sooner Sensations and other ladies choirs throughout her life. She treasured being a Registered Nurse where she worked mostly with newborns and their mothers. She cherished her marriage to Leon Rogers for the few years they had together before he passed away. Above all, she was a devoted Mother and Mimi. She celebrated every holiday to the fullest with an abundance of décor and her complete attire. Mimi never missed dance recitals and birthday parties for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Forest Leon Rogers.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jim and Chris Johnson, Bonnie and Brian Cox, Cathy and Chris Gard, and Pete and Tracy Johnson, her grandchildren: Cody Johnson, Brittany Rail, Calley Scott, Ryan Scott, Brett Mullins, Kayla Beard, Chanel Whitfield, Christopher Gard, Peyton Johnson, and Lauren Johnson, 12 great-grandchildren, and her sisters: Frances Turner and Barbara Carr and many other loving family members.
Her funeral service will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 10:30AM at First Christian Church in Oklahoma City, located at 3700 N Walker Ave. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
