Cheryl Ann Norton lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family, children and community. Born on August 4, 1946, in Lexington, Oklahoma, she was the only daughter of Charlie James Price and Iona Kathrine (Thompson) Price, growing up alongside her four lively and spirited brothers.
Cheryl graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. After earning her beautician’s license, she began working as a hairdresser, where a client introduced Cheryl to her younger brother, Jim. Jim and Cheryl connected instantly and, on August 19th, 1966, Cheryl married the love of her life, Donald James “Jim” Norton. Together, they built a home filled with love, respect, and a shared commitment to family and serving others.
Above all, Cheryl was a devoted mother who poured her heart into raising her children. She was a steady presence in their lives—attending every school event, cheering from the sidelines, and celebrating each milestone with boundless enthusiasm. Her nurturing spirit, patience, and unwavering support left a lasting mark, helping shape her children into the individuals they are today.
Family was truly the heartbeat of Cheryl’s world. Her greatest joy came from sharing time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, whose laughter and love filled her home with warmth. She instilled in her family the values of forgiveness, compassion, and unconditional love—lessons that will continue to echo through generations.
As a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Cheryl cherished every moment spent with them. She found immense joy in their laughter, achievements, and unique personalities. Her home was always open, a welcoming place where she delighted in creating special memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Cheryl’s life was rooted in faith. As a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, her love for gospel music and fellowship shone brightly. She particularly treasured the time spent with her mother and the group known as the Senior Saints. Together, they enjoyed road trips, shared meals, sang hymns, and prayed, creating cherished memories and deepening their bonds of faith and friendship.
Cheryl’s home often echoed with the sounds of country and gospel classics, as well as old-time rock and roll, but even more so with laughter, conversation, and the joy of family gatherings. A talented cook, Cheryl was especially known for her homemade dinner rolls, a beloved staple at family events. She welcomed friends and family into her home with open arms and a generous heart.
Cheryl’s journey was marked by both joy and sorrow. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald James Norton; her son, Charles S. Norton; her parents, Charlie and Iona Price; and her brothers, Kurt, Wade, Donald, and Clyde Price. Through every loss, Cheryl remained a pillar of strength and grace.
She is survived by her children, Donald J. Norton Jr. of Oklahoma City and Sondra K. Moseley and her husband James of Lorena, Texas; her sister-in-law, Sharon Price; her cherished grandchildren, Gabrielle Norton, Shelby Norton, Sydney Norton, Matthew Moseley, and Rebekah Moseley; and her great-grandchildren, Grayson McDaniel, Stetson Norton, Leif Farrier, Waylon Norton, and Wrenley Jo Moseley. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
