

Cherylle Almeda Bryant, 50, of Norman was born on June 1, 1965 in Midwest City, OK to her parents Jay Cleveland Smith and Peggy Karen (Schultz) Smith. She passed away on December 15, 2015 at her home.
Cherylle spent her childhood moving with her family to Louisiana, Hawaii, Michigan, Georgia, and North Carolina, during which time she had many wonderful experiences in each of those locations. In 1976 she moved with her family to Norman, OK where she was very active in the Youth Ministries at McFarlin Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing in the youth choirs and attending the youth trips such as skiing in Colorado. One summer she trained with a group who took a hiking trip in the Colorado Mountains. She graduated from Norman High School where she also sang in the school chorus. Cherylle earned a Masters Degree in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. One of her most enjoyable work experiences was serving as a tutor in the Athletic Department at the University of Oklahoma. She was a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Cheryle loved learning and attending Classes at the University of Oklahoma. She loved roses, reading, cats and Star Trek movies and television shows. She collected crystals and enjoyed wearing jewelry made with natural stones. A favorite summer activity was enjoying the night sky. Above all she loved to spend time with her family and her greatest joy in life were her two sons.
Survivors include her sons Trevor Jay and Cody Jacob of Norman; father of her children: Garret Michael Bryant of Norman; mother: Peggy Smith of Norman; brother: Greg (Jennifer) Smith of Claremore; close family friend: Denise Dougherty; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 21, 2015 at First Christian Church, 220 S Webster Ave, Norman, OK 73069. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Eastern Star Cemetery near Aline in Northwestern Oklahoma. The Rev. Gary Hardwick will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Food and Shelter for Friends of Norman 104 W Comanche St, Norman, OK 73069.
