Dallas Ray Spann

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dallas Spann, a cherished father, devoted husband, and beloved community leader. Born on November 24, 1960, in Norman, OK, Dallas's journey came to an end on August 25, 2026.

Dallas was a man of integrity and boundless passion. Those who knew him will remember his unwavering loyalty and his love for Jesus, which was the cornerstone of his existence. Dallas enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as savoring a hamburger and milkshake, delving into the wisdom of the Bible, and tapping his feet to any song that chanced upon his ears. He was a steadfast supporter of the OU Sooners, and a lover of fast cars.

Notable among his hobbies were working on cars and collecting items of interest (lots of items of interest). Routinely seen touching his toes, his record will never be beat. He was particularly fond of vacationing in Colorado, a place close to his heart due to memorable summers spent with his grandparents, Dallas and Viva.

In 2014, Dallas moved back to Norman and opened Thrift Nation, an establishment that reflected his industrious spirit and commitment to community service. His presence will be sorely missed by all those whose lives were touched by his kindness and generosity.

Dallas is survived by his wife, Lynda Spann; his son, Baron Spann; step-daughters, Mandy Gomez and Christine Wilkinson; son-in-laws, Scott Gomez (Mandy) and Daniel Wilkinson (Christine); daughter-in-law, Scarlett (Baron); his grandchildren, Hunter, Blake and Addison Gomez, Nora and Miles Wilkinson and Jaxson M. Spann; and nephews, Adam Jones and Jake and Brent Spann. Dallas was predeceased by his father, Ray Spann; mother, Jan Buchanan Spann; brother, Jay Spann; and sister, Cinda Spann. His legacy of love, commitment, and faith will continue to thrive in their hearts.

A celebration of Dallas's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 11:30am at the Norman First Assembly of God. The family invites everyone to attend and share in commemorating the remarkable life of this extraordinary man.
