Mr. Donald Ray McCalip

Donald Ray McCalip was born on July 31, 1941, in Norman, Oklahoma. He was the son of John Ernest and Cora Marie (Carter) McCalip. He grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, attending Norman Public Schools, graduating from Norman High School in 1959. Following his education he entered the United States Air Force serving for four years. Following his discharge he married Karen Ruth Pitt on August 30, 1963, in Norman and they settled in Norman. He began his career working for Lincoln Income Life Insurance Company and later began working as a supervisor for American National Can retiring in 1999. Following his retirement he began working at the West Wood Golf Course. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, being a handy man, and golfing, and he loved spending time with her family.

He is survived by his wife, Karen McCalip of Norman, Oklahoma; two sons, Greg McCalip and wife Billie of Chandler, Oklahoma, and Jeff McCalip of Norman, Oklahoma; two brothers, Norman McCalip and wife Lenora of Norman, Oklahoma, and Ron McCalip and wife Lana of Purcell, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Kymber McCalip, Jared McCalip and Caroline McCalip all of Norman, Oklahoma.
