Donny Ray Chandler, 72, of Wichita Falls passed away on Wednesday October 31, 2018 at the Norman Veterans Center.
Donny Ray Chandler passed away after a courageous battle with dementia. He was born September 11, 1946. He was a lifelong resident of Wichita Falls, TX.
He was a graduate of the Class of 1965 from Rider High School; he attended the University of Maryland in the United States Army and was drafted to serve in Vietnam War in 1966, where he served as a motor Sergeant.
Donny was the regional sales manager of Keebler Cookie Company, while running a successful cattle ranch in Clay County. He loved to tell stories while smoking one of his favorite cigars.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Kimber Dunkelberg and son in law Bill Dunkelberg of Wichita Falls. His two grandsons Graham and Clark Dunkelberg. His ex-wife of 25 years Mattie Ann Chandler of Joy, TX, his mother Mildred Chandler of Holiday, TX as well as one sister and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his father Lee Chandler.
Donny will be laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma on Friday November 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
Memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Wichita Falls in honor of his dog, JOJO.
