Felicia Ann Whitaker, 47, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away in Norman surrounded by family. Born in DeKalb, Texas, Felicia came into the world with a heart meant for caring and a spirit built to endure.
She was born to Robert Joe Williams and Cellastine Smith-Williams and spent her early years in DeKalb before finishing her education at Idabel High School in Oklahoma, completing the 11th grade in 1995. Felicia moved to Bridge Creek, Oklahoma in 2010, and made her home in Norman beginning in 2016, where she lived until her passing.
Felicia married the love of her life, Phillip Whitaker, on February 20, 2006. Together they shared 19 years of marriage and a beautiful bond that lasted a total of 35 years. A perfect day for Felicia was spent laughing with Phillip, her children, and especially her grandchildren, the people who brought her the most joy.
She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and faithful wife. Her quick wit, sarcasm, and infectious laughter lit up every room. Felicia enjoyed playing cards, especially spades and dominos, and never passed up a good meal out with those she loved. She also found purpose and pride in her work as a home health provider and homemaker, offering care with the same dedication she showed her family.
Felicia was a long-time member of Blanchard First Baptist Church in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Her faith, humility, and heart for others defined her. She lived by strong values, teaching others through examples, how to survive, how to cook, how to clean, and most importantly how to love with your whole heart.
Felicia’s favorite music was R&B, and her favorite color was green, a symbol of growth, life, and peace, much like the life she lived.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Joe Williams and Cellastine Smith-Williams, and by her beloved daughter, Alicia Ann Williams.
Felicia is survived by her husband, Phillip Whitaker; her children Phil D. Whitaker, Alestine Joanna Williams (Kiyshaun Flowers), Brad Dewayne Whitaker, and Markiny Whitaker; bonus children Shawn Robinson, Leandrea Battle, Tony Robinson, and Twila Battle; brothers David Smith, Robert Joe Williams Jr. and Earnest Williams; 5 grandchildren La’Vayah Hefflin, Xavier Williams, Leah Williams, Kiyshaun Flowers Jr. and one on the way; 12 bonus grandchildren; and numerous half siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.
Felicia Ann Whitaker will be remembered as a humble, loving, and caring woman whose legacy is deeply rooted in family, faith, and joy. Her absence leaves a profound hole, but her memory will continue to live on through every meal cooked with love, every card game shared, and every moment of laughter among those she held dear.
Memorial donations may be made to Primrose Funeral Service or to her husband, Phillip Whitaker.
