Geneva Ella Harkins Lawson

Geneva Ella Harkins Lawson was born May 11, 1918 and passed away in Norman, OK. March 23, 2012.

Geneva was born to Harvey Hugh and Josie Ella Jackson Harkins in Robert Lee, Texas, where her family lived before they relocated to the Wanette, Oklahoma area. After graduating from Lexington High School, Geneva married her husband of sixty-nine years, William B. Lawson. Geneva and her husband moved to Norman soon after Mr. Lawson returned from World War II.

Geneva has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Norman since the early 1950’s and retired from the Cleveland County Superintendent’s Office after a thirty year career.

Mrs. Lawson is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Josie Harkins; husband, William B. Lawson; and her daughter Gail Lawson Anderson and son-in-law Bob Anderson; sisters Lola, Bernice, Barbara, Pauline and Beatrice; and brothers Herman and Johnny.

Mrs. Lawson is survived by her two Grandsons Scott Anderson and wife, Sara Schultz Anderson of New Baden, Texas and Dr. Brett Anderson of Charleston, IL. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
