

George Henry Droescher, 86, of Norman, Oklahoma was born May 20, 1940 in Colombia. He was born to Carlos and Gertrude “Trudy” (Hacher) Droescher. He departed this world on Friday June 19, 2026. George graduated from Norman High School. Later in life he continued his education at the University of Oklahoma studying Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. On March 31, 1969, George married Donna Gail Kilgore. Together they built a family centered on family, service, and community. George proudly served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard, from 1955 to retirement on May 20, 2000 achieving the rank of Master Sergent; with the majority of his service was with the 45th infantry division. He proudly became a naturalized United States citizen on January 23, 1958. A supporter of youth sports in Norman, George, with coach Gordon Drummond, was a founding member of the Norman youth soccer program. Ensuring every child who wanted to play soccer was given the opportunity. George continued playing league soccer well into his mid 50’s, loving every minute of it. In his younger years he enjoyed painting and sketching; entering competitions. George passed this love and talent to both of his granddaughter. In January of 1975 he and wife Donna opened Hause of Elegances, a contemporary furniture store. George enjoyed watching FIFA soccer, cheering on OU football and most importantly spending time with his family. George was preceded in death by his son David Mathew, his parents, Carlos and Trudy Droescher. He is survived by his wife Donna, of the home, daughter, Jennifer and husband Robert, sister Mary and husband Jimmy Waggoner, brother Carlos Droescher and wife Lynn, brother in-law Calvin Kilgore and wife Jerre, granddaughters Alyssa and husband Zachary Black, Taylor and husband Thomas Garcia-Mejia, great granddaughter, Elena and many more relatives and friends. George touched the lives of many people and will be deeply missed. George’s legacy of service, family devotion and community involvement will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, US, on July 18, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
