was the third youngest of 10 children. Grace accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized when she was 10 years old to begin life anew for the rest of her life.
Grace loved sports and loved to play baseball, basketball and volley ball in high school. She continued to go to several OU football games and loved listening to and watching OU girls basketball.
Graces' precious Mother went to be with the Lord when Grace was only 12 years old and her Dad passed away when she was 18 leaving her to take care of her younger brother and sister until they moved to Norman, Oklahoma to live with her older sister and husband.
Grace immediately got a job at the bus station in Norman until she met and married Chester Roley in 1949 at the age of 21. That union gave them three children, Joyce, who went to be with Jesus at the age of three months. Sandra was born two years later and Dennis four years later. Mom cherished her children and loved them unconditionally. She sacrificed so much to give them what they needed and so, so much more. Mom taught us to be giving and caring and to love the Lord.
Grace was a caregiver. She took care of her mother-in-law for a year after a stroke. She always said she was like a mother to me. Then taking care of her husband during his struggle with cancer for three years. Mom always worked to provide for her family. Her favorite job was working in the Student Union at OU. She made many friends who she treasured. Peter and Kay, you were family to her all these years, and she loved you dearly. Tony and Karen, her neighbors, were also very close with her.
She loved going to church and helping wherever she was needed. Grace sent cards out to her Senior Citizen group on birthdays or when they were ill. She also helped when the church had a funeral with the reception. Grace was a giver. In the nursing home she always had candy bars to give to the staff and others in her hall.
Preceding her death were her grandparents, parents, seven sisters, and three brothers, one daughter, and her husband of over 50 years. She is survived by Sister, Betty of Noble, Oklahoma. Her daughter, Sandy and husband Jim, of Gilbert, Arizona, her son Dennis and wife Glenda of Noble, three grandchildren, Sean and wife Kim of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Jennifer of Gilbert, Arizona, Brian and wife Shelby, Ryan Roley of Norman, four great grandchildren, Carter and Ashlyn of Arizona, Damien and Gabriel of Oklahoma City and many loving family members and friends.
Grace wanted us to know she went to Heaven on the wings of her special angel. We will always miss you and are grateful God gave you to us to love. We are grateful for the devotion she always gave to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, we will always "love you to the moon and back".
A visitation for Gracie will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
