He was born on June 6, 1948, in Atchison, Kansas, the third of four children. Harry later made his home in Norman, where he built a life defined by love, curiosity, and connection—as a devoted husband, a proud uncle, and a loyal friend.
On August 1, 1987, Harry married Susan Teschner, the love of his life. Their almost 39 year marriage was a true partnership filled with devotion, laughter, and shared history. Harry often told the story that Susan was the girl he knew he would marry all the way back in second grade—a promise he kept with his whole heart.
Harry took great pride in earning his college degree and in the life he built with Susan. He was deeply involved in the Central Oklahoma Jaguar Association (COJA), where he served in many roles over the years, including multiple terms as president and as editor of Cat Tracks, the club’s monthly newsletter. His enthusiasm and dedication helped bring people together around a shared passion.
He had a love for the road and for discovery, spending time traveling and building unique collections, including Tootsie Roll memorabilia and phonograph records. Harry had a special appreciation for sports cars, woodworking, and antiques, and he found great joy in sharing those interests with others. Above all, he cherished time with his many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Harry will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor, his adventurous spirit, and the stories he loved to tell. He had a way of making life more interesting, more fun, and more meaningful for those around him.
We will miss him deeply. Safe travels, Harry—you are loved more than words can say.
