Heidi Harper Brandenburg passed away peacefully December 13, 2019. She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to John and Rubye Harper. She was married to Robert F. Brandenburg, Jr in September 1962, who preceded her in death.
Heidi spent much of her early life riding the rim of Taos valley with friends on her horse Blackie which she adored. After her marriage to Bob, she brought her generosity of spirit to Norman, where she spent much of her life bringing joy, love, and service to her family, community, and anyone that crossed her path. She particularly loved children and spent much of her life finding ways to support and love them to the fullest, of which she imparted to her children. She had a great capacity to reach those that couldn’t be, and she found her children when they didn’t want to be found. She was the founder and first president of the Assistance League of Norman, worked with Oklahoma CASA, and was very active in Juvenile Services Inc. later Center for Children and Families.
Heidi is survived by her sons: Rob Brandenburg and his wife Paula, John Brandenburg, and Adam Brandenburg; and grandchildren, Robert F. Brandenburg, IV and Lee Littrell Brandenburg.
